15 min daily fitness program: week 4 day 5: the best chair exercises

Image
Hi! I have been promising chair exercises for a long time now but the problem was catching some innocent family member and having him take pics. (This is more troublesome then it sounds, as they never have time). So here finally is my day's program with chair exercises. It looked rather light in the beginning compared to most of my other daily programs but you still work up a good sweat. This is NOT for the office! Equipment: as usual:  extra weights ,  ankle and wrist weights,   yoga mat ,  towel, and of course a (sturdy) chair. In the pics I don't actually use the yoga mat and towel, but you can use it for instance when doing the push-ups and the side crunches if it gives you a more stable underground.  1. Hinge and cross. Sit in the chair and lean back. Put your hands behind your ears. Tighten the abdomen and squeeze the inner thighs together. Now lean over so that your right shoulder touches the left knee. Come back up and alternate. 30-50 reps.  2. Si

Massage: how to perform a simple back massage

Hi! In waiting to pounce on one of my unsuspecting family members to take more pics for the chair and towel exercises, I wanted to discuss an important aspect in my life: massage. Not that I am getting it often, but I give it often, and also I used to produce all-natural massage oils with my own company and am still very interested in them. My husband has severe lower back problems since an operation a couple of years back and massage really helps him; it doesn't heal but it gives him pain relief. I used to use this jojoba massage oil (jojoba is actually not an oil, but a liquid wax) which has wonderful glide. I have a collection of  essential oils  still from my days as a health & wellness products company and I generally let the victim of my massage choose the essential oil by smell, as I believe your body knows what's good for it. Currently I have something with Mandarin; I have a lovely body butter from the Body Shop that improves my mood whenever I put it on. L

15 min daily fitness program: week 4 day 4: the best towel exercises!

Image
Hi! There are many towel exercises out there, but I tried to find the most challenging ones, as I generally try to use compound exercises; those that target multi-muscle groups and have you panting within 30 seconds (well maybe not you as you may be much more well-trained than I am, but at least me). The idea with the towel is kind of the same as with a non-stretchable yoga band : it is you who is putting up the resistance. Alternative are some gliding exercises, but there again it is you who is causing the resistance. I found this program to be relatively light but still ok. It also depends very much on how much effort you put into it: if you really resist yourself it can become quite interesting. Think of adding in arm exercises together with the  legs or the opposite.  tripleclicks.com Skin Body Cream remove stretch marks treatment Postpartum repair whitening pregnancy scar removal —  $12.50   (Save 64%!) 15-min daily exercise fitness program: week 4 day 3: NEW EXERCISES!

Image
Hi! Today I have an intensive short program with all new exercises. Now don't get too upheated: these exercises have been around probably since humankind, but I just have not had them before in my program. Be prepared for a little change. Since I am aiming for compound exercises that use multiple muscle groups around the body, they are necessarily a bit, or for some maybe quite, challenging. If you cannot do some of the exercises, do an easier variation. I cannot do a pistol squat yet...but I keep trying (and falling on my scrawny ass, but never mind). The key thing is always perseverance . Equipment:  ankle and wrist weights , extra hand weights of 3 kg each, a  yoga mat, and a  towel . 1. In order to start off right, start off with something that makes you smile :) Music: (not the original but this was just SOOO good: Walking on sunshine ) for those who, like me, generally go for the original:  Katrina & the waves   Try a kick-jump: Jump up and kick out
